  • How much can I make with a Class A CDL in Florida?

A Class A CDL can open the door to a rewarding trucking career with excellent earning potential. Many new CDL drivers earn $55,000–$80,000+ per year, while experienced drivers, specialized haulers, and owner-operators can earn $90,000–$100,000+ annually. Your income depends on factors such as experience, employer, route type (local, regional, or over-the-road), endorsements, and miles driven.

At CFI Truck Driving School, we prepare students with the hands-on skills employers are looking for so they can begin a successful trucking career.

  • How long does it take to get a Class A CDL in Tampa?

Most students finish in 2–4 weeks. We offer flexible weekday and weekend options so you can complete training quickly while keeping your current job.

  • Why choose your school over other CDL schools in Tampa?

Students choose us for our personalized one-on-one behind the wheel instruction, transparent affordable pricing, weekend availability, high pass rates, and some of the best instructors in Florida.

  • Do you offer weekend CDL classes in Tampa?

Yes. Weekend options are available with both our Automatic ($2,995) and Manual ($3,495) Class A programs. New classes start each month. This is a great option for those who have jobs and work during the week.

  • Do you offer one-on-one CDL training in Tampa?

Yes. Every student receives one-on-one behind-the-wheel (BTW) instruction. This is included in both our $2,995 Automatic and $3,495 Manual Class A programs.

  • What do I need before starting?

Before beginning your Class A CDL training, you'll need:

    A valid driver's license

A DOT Medical Certificate (DOT Physical)

    A Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP/CDL Permit)

Don't worry if you don't have your permit or medical card yet. CFI Truck Driving School provides CDL permit preparation and DOT medical assistance to help you complete these requirements before your behind-the-wheel training begins.

  • What’s the difference between Automatic and Manual Class A training?

  • Is your CDL school ELDT compliant and FMCSA certified?

Yes. Both Class A programs include ELDT Behind-the-Wheel training and a 165-hour FMCSA Certificate of Completion. We are fully FMCSA certified and state-licensed.
